[Composer comment]
This piece was commissioned by the Yamaha Wind Orchestra Hamamatsu for an ensemble contest, and was performed by LUNA (2007),
This is his fourth work, following GEMINI (2008) and Typhoeus (2011).
"Regulus" is the alpha star in the constellation Leo, and has a meaning equivalent to "king" in Latin.
According to Greek mythology, Leo is the ``Nemean Lion'' that appears in the Twelve Labors of Hercules, and this monster lion, which is said to have attacked people and livestock, is also said to be the cub of Typhoeus.
It uses the same motifs (rhythm and pitch relationships) as the previous work Typhoeus, and is intended to further vary and develop the theme through the two songs.
Please value the acoustics created by special playing techniques and the tension of the irregular time signature.
*This version of Regulus can be played consecutively with Typhoeus. (In order of Typhoeus → Regulus)
If you want to continue playing, connect the notes of the yuo and play with the attack.
*Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges due to incorrect purchases.
