Description
Jupiter From the Planets for Percussion Sextet
Composer: Gustav Holst
Arranger: Atsushi Sugahara
Playing time
About 8 minutes 58 seconds
* As a play time for playing time, it is a play time by sound source, so it depends on the performance method and tempo.
Arannger’s Comments
-
Although the arrangement is for six players, it may also be performed by seven or eight players if desired.
-
If you wish to shorten the performance time, cuts may be made.
-
The timpani part includes passages for tambourine, but if switching instruments is too difficult, these may be omitted.
-
The timpani part requires frequent pitch changes and highly advanced pedal technique; any unmanageable sections may be freely omitted.
-
The Marimba 2 part is written for a 5-octave range; if the lower register is unavailable, you may raise those notes an octave.
-
Percussion parts with particularly busy instrument changes may also be simplified or omitted.
