LP Bongo Comparison

At our shop, there are customers who come to Bongo with various requests like this.

Of course, I'm also worried about the orientation of the genre, but first of all, why don't you know what kind of specifications there are?
Of the LP bongo drums, we will compare three of them: Generation II, Matador, and City series.

・ Body shape → What is the sound coming out quickly?
・ Head material and texture → Clear tone? A light tone?
・ Strength of parts → Whether it can be used at high pitch ・ Body material → Weight, spread of sound

If you understand these four points, you may be able to get a little closer to the tone you are looking for.

◆ Body shape.
Matador is a body with a small body. Both the appearance and the sound have a low center of gravity, but on the other hand, it is Generation II that the sound comes out quickly. Its characteristic is the shape that shrinks toward the bottom.

◆ Head material, texture Generation II with candy-colored skin, and Matador and City series with white skin. The candy color has a higher surface density and a stronger bounce feeling, so it is characterized by a clear tone.

◆ Strength of parts The hook part of the city series bongo is made thin to reduce the cost. Generation II or Matador is recommended for those who want to raise the pitch.

◆ Body material The body of the bongo is made of wood, fiber, acrylic, plastic, etc. Generation II, Matador and City series are all wooden bodies. I use a material called oak. It is lighter than fiber and has a moderate weight compared to acrylic (heavier percussion instruments are better at mid-low range).
