■ Profile of Maoki Yamamoto
Born April 5, 1992, from Saitama Prefecture. From an early age, he became interested in drums through exposure to a variety of music, mainly rock, fusion, and jazz, and began teaching himself the drums.
After that, he participated in a wind band for 6 years at Kasukabe Kyoei Junior and Senior High School, where he learned all about percussion. While attending school, he won gold medals in numerous competitions and competitions.
In 2011, he entered Berklee College of Music in the United States after winning a scholarship.
In addition to performing, he also focused on composing and arranging music, and started providing music mainly for DTM.
After returning to Japan, he made his professional debut and was in charge of recording theme songs and live performances for artists such as Toshio Kadomatsu, Little Glee Monsters, Mika Nakashima, The Gospellers, Tunnels, Hey! Say! JUMP, and games and anime such as ``Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,'' ``Jujutsu Kaisen,'' ``Pokemon,'' and ``The Idolmaster.''
In 2024, he also focused his efforts on collaboration with wind orchestras, commissioning and world premiere of Jun Chosei's 28-minute drum concerto ``Unified Tale'', which was well received.
He is expanding his activities not only as a performer but also as a composer, including writing lyrics, arranging songs, and arranging songs in a variety of fields.
