Gretsch was started in Brooklyn in 1883.
The company, which opened an office on Broadway in 1916 and has expanded its business by manufacturing drums and mandolins and acting as an import agent for stringed instruments, will celebrate its 140th anniversary in 2023. Despite this strange fate, they continue to release wonderful products.
This book is a mook that will become an "official research book" at this opportune time as we move beyond the anniversary year and enter the next phase.
It traces the history of the company along with the social situation at the time, and thoroughly explains the 3 series, which is the mainstay of the current lineup, the sound and characteristic specifications since the 1950s. Let's take a closer look at the whole story of "That Great GRETSCH Sound."
