[Composer comment]
This song was written in April 2009 and was commissioned by Mr. Jang Woo-sik, a timpani player who is active in South Korea. At first, I was thinking of a piece for timpani and marimba, but I decided to create a percussion quintet to create a balance with the loud sound of the timpani.
What I was particular about when writing this song was to give the timpani a melodic theme and have it sing like a baritone singer. However, since the timpani can only produce four notes, I couldn't create a cute melody and it sounded a little scary, so I named the song ``Never Miss It''.
