Bog oak refers to oak wood that has remained dormant at the bottom of lakes, swamps or rivers for a long time, perhaps thousands of years, and has become carbonized; the wood used by DS is 1,000 years old.
Not only is it beautiful to look at, but the dark, deep sound is definitely worth a listen.
