Tsutomu Tajima: Chojugiga No. 2 “Full Moon Festival”
[Composer comment]
There is a unique poem called ``Birth Festival'' in the works of Kusano Nopei, a beloved poet.
On the night of a full moon, loaches, fireflies, and frogs hold a solemn and grand feast full of vitality. I sensed the unique colors, smells, atmosphere, and rhythms of this poem, and when I was young, I was inspired by this poem to write a choral piece.
I reread this poem for the first time in a while, and last year (2008) I wrote a song for the municipal Kashiwa High School brass band called ``Symphonic Band and Chorus.''『Chojugiga』Composed.
And this time, I expressed them with a sextet of percussion instruments. Percussion instruments are used to express the unique and fantastical feast held by small animals.
