Selected by JPCCD 2019 recording selection committee, Oieisho's work Cathexis. A work that combines keyboard percussion instruments and percussion solos like a drum set.

[Composer comment]
Cathexis is a psychoanalytic concept in Freud's paradigm that refers to the provision or appropriation of libido (psychic/sexual energy) to a certain object. If libido is the basis of mental energy, the title can be seen as a metaphor for pouring and storing energy into creative ideas (for example, motifs or phrases), or becoming attached to a particular acoustic phenomenon. In terms of the correspondence between object provision and musical attachment, it is semantically similar to the idee fixe proposed by Berlioz, and structurally, variations on the opening theme and partial motives are presented in a cyclical manner.
