About KATO.BK Model Seegers
The basic model was created by studying and recreating the details of the felt wrapping method, core material, etc. of the timpani mallet that Mr. Seegers owned.
The basic concept is "soft mallets with big sounds"
There are a variety of players with different physiques and playing styles, so we came up with many ideas and created a huge number of prototypes, and we took the time to select 20 types so that each player could choose a mallet that best suited them. (3 original types + 17 variations) lineup.
*The names of the variation models are based on impressions that Seegers himself had while trying them out, and should be taken as a guideline and not a stifling or restrictive one.
This timpani mallet, with its special head structure, has the great advantage of allowing the player to control the clarity, timbre, and rhythm of the sound themselves. The idea of the mallet head has a history of about 150 years, and the materials used at that time included wood, sponge, wool, and leather. Currently, the main materials used are wood, cork, leather, and cotton (felt). It continues to develop, as if it has been used in performances for 150 years in central Europe.
