これはシェイカー？プログラムされたピッチ付きハイハットのサンプル？それともクラッシュ系のパーカッションエフェクト？いいえ、これは「クラッシャー・ハット」です。音楽の中で、ささやくようなシェイカーの役割を果たしつつも、超短く、ドライでクリア、高音域かつ非常にダイナミックなサウンドが欲しかったんです。簡単には手に入らないサウンドで、完全に新しいものを作る必要がありました。
4枚の異なるシンバルを重ね合わせ、それぞれのショルダー（肩部分）が異なるため、叩くたびに互いにぶつかり合います。その結果、信じられないほどユニークなサウンドが生まれました。ゴーストノートや他の細かいリズムと美しく混ざり合う一方で、非常にパーカッシブな存在感も出せます。不要なノイズや残響もなく、いつでも完璧な音を出します。
私のサウンドの一部になった、とても便利な楽器です。本当に大好きです。
