About KATO.BK Model Seegers
The basic model was created by researching and recreating the details of the felt wrapping method, core material, etc. of the timpani mallet that Mr. Seegers owned.
The basic concept is "loud sound with a soft mallet"
There are a variety of players with different body types and playing styles, so we came up with a lot of ideas and created a huge number of prototypes, and we took the time to select 20 types so that each player can choose a mallet that matches them. (3 original types + 17 variations) lineup.
*The names of the variation models were given based on the impressions that Segers himself had while trying out the instruments. They are not meant to be restrictive and should only be considered as a guideline.
This timpani mallet, with its special head structure, has the advantage that the player can control the clarity, tone, and rhythm of the sound. The idea of this mallet head has a history of about 150 years, and at the time, materials such as wood, sponge, wool, and leather were used. Today, wood, cork, leather, and cotton (felt) are mainly used. It continues to develop as if it has been used for playing in Central Europe for 150 years.
