Hiroyuki Yamazawa's work included in JPCCD2019 A warm work celebrating marriage
Intermediate/upper level
[Composer comment]
I composed this piece as a celebration for a percussionist I teach who is getting married. We both graduated from the same high school and are currently active in the general orchestra together.
The three close friends only used one 4-octave marimba so that they could play anytime and anywhere, including at wedding receptions.
(Percussion instruments can be added as an option, but we still tried to fit it into one passenger car.)
The song starts with a samba-like rhythm that celebrates the departure, and unfolds while cutting out various scenery. Departure
There may be days when you think of the sky of your hometown, which is far away. However, I hope that our friendship will last forever.
If there is a limit on performance time, change the development up to A to two measures at a time. If you still can't make it in time
Cut measures 1 to 8 of B' and play from measure 9.
The third player plays from the opposite side of the instrument. It does not interfere with the performance of each player, including the 1st and 2nd players.
Try thinking about which mallet to play and where on the keyboard to play.
I think it would be interesting to set up the marimba vertically in relation to the audience seats so that you can see the movement. (Bass side/Treble side
Please decide which side to face the audience based on the balance of each group. )
We look forward to your unique performances, turning your imagination into creativity.
The sound source is a trio version.
(Reference video uses Resta/Geoffroy model mallets for each part)
