Description
The Artwood Birch model from the Mastercraft series, released in 1980, has been long-awaitedly reissued as a limited edition model.
Artwood Birch uses the birch shell that was highly praised in the Superstar, and boasts a thick mid-low range and good sound projection thanks to the 9mm thick shell. The snare wire is a full-surface contact type that was mainstream at the time, and the strainer that operates it is a perfect reproduction of the "Roller Action Strainer" that was originally designed and developed by TAMA at the time. It achieves the smooth operation and retro looks that were popular at the time, and also produces the delicate response and voluminous buzz sound that is characteristic of a full-surface contact strainer.
Another thing you can't miss is the beautiful design. It reproduces the wood inlay used in early models. The contrast with the plain, natural wood grain creates an antique atmosphere reminiscent of antique art.
