[Report] Takahiko Akiyama Drum Seminar “Groove Head and Wari” in Utatsuza

A part of the Drum City store suddenly transforms into an event space, and its name is Nishi-Asakusa Drum Theater [Utauza]!
As a memorable first performance at such an event space, we held a seminar with drummer Takahiko Akiyama on Sunday, January 21, 2024!

This time's theme is

[Groove's head and excitement]

Cherish the groove in your head and connect the grooves as well.

I moved to Tokyo and learned drums at a vocational school, and there were teachers, seniors, and classmates who played beats that felt really good, and now that I think about it, I think they were the ones who [rotated] the beats.
However, I think there are many ways to learn about themes that are similar to this feeling, such as listening to a lot of music, listening to a lot of live performances, and playing!
Still, there was no correct answer, and I kept thinking about it and thinking about it over and over again.

At this event,
Always being aware of the rotation of the groove,
Mr. Akiyama himself deepened his understanding by playing songs in which he particularly felt the rotation of the groove, and performed demo performances using a drum set.
The event delved deeply into a single theme.
I received a lot of hints that I could solve my problems with my fluffy groove by being conscious about it.
Mr. Akiyama's style of serious storytelling that makes you laugh is very easy to understand, and he answered each question carefully!
