[Report] Chubu Percussion Association 23rd Festival (Percussion Festival 2025 in NAGOYA)
Chubu Percussion Association Chairman Masanori Izumi
This year's Chubu Percussion Festival was held on May 10th and 11th at the Nagoya Bunri University Cultural Forum (Inazawa Civic Hall). This is the second year that the event has been held in collaboration with the Inazawa City Cultural Promotion Foundation, using the entire hall. Unfortunately, the number of visitors was only slightly lower than last year, at about 530 people, but on May 11th in particular, the event was crowded with many customers all day long.
On the 10th, there will be a master class with our guest, Mr. Javier Nandayapa. At the beginning of the course, there was an explanation with videos about the activities of the Mexican Marimba and the Nandayapa family, but the event went much longer than planned, and it was a big regret that the lesson was disrupted.
On the 11th, from 10 a.m., we will be holding a basic course divided into ``Timp.'', ``General percussion instruments'', and ``keyboard instruments'', as well as a wind band repertoire course, as well as a ``handmade instrument course'' and a ``drum circle facilitator course.'' Exhibition and experience booths opened at 11:00 a.m. in the middle hall, and the main concert was scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. in the large hall, but it was scheduled to end after 5:00 p.m., and actually ended until just before 6:00 p.m. During this time, Sou from the handmade instrument performance group "kajii" held three handmade instrument experience sessions in the small hall. Many children participated in this course, and I was able to feel that we were building good relationships with the local community.
Guests for the main concert will be ``Mr. Javier Nandayapa'' and ``Mr. Daiki Kato.''

At Mr. Kato's suggestion, we solicited members from the public to co-star in Mr. Kato's ``Hapimelo,'' and the event turned out to be a great ensemble of 25 people, including participants from not only the Chubu region, but also Toyama Prefecture and the Kanto region. Naturally, with a concert that lasts more than four hours, it is impossible to listen to the entire program, but we are proud to say that it was a success, with customers visiting the trial session in the small hall, the exhibition booth in the medium hall, and the four food trucks outside.

The event ended with the customary "rhapsody" and the launch. Thanks to the cooperation of various vendors, the launch event was a great success for all participants, leading to the event being held next year.

The event will be held again next year at the Inazawa Civic Center on May 9th and 10th.
