My name is Mari Kanai and I joined the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra as a percussionist on June 1st.
My professional orchestra debut was at the Kanagawa Philharmonic's 9th concert in December of my third year at university. I am very happy that I was able to join you after about 10 years, and I feel that we have some sort of connection.
This year, Mr. Hirao in July and Mr. Shimizu in September, two people who have created the history of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, are scheduled to graduate, and this will be a major turning point for the percussion section.
Although I am still inexperienced, I would like to do my best to inherit the sound of the two Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra members, and grow more broadly and deeply in my own way, both as a musician and as a person. Thank you for your continued support.
