The sky shows countless expressions, but the golden hues that mark the end and beginning of each day may leave the strongest impression on us.

The opening and closing are seamlessly connected, symbolizing the wish for beautiful days to continue in a never-ending circle of life.

Part I: Vibraphone (F33–F69, 3 oct., with bow passages), 2 Congas, Bongo, Tam-tam, Hi-hat
Part II: Glockenspiel (G59–C88, 2.5 oct.), Marimba (C16–C76, 5 oct.), Chimes, Tambourine
Part III: Chimes*, Marimba*, Cowbell
Part IV: 4 Timpani (with Superball passages), Wind Chime, Triangle, Vibraslap, 4 Temple Blocks
Part V: Suspended Cymbal, Floor Tom, Tam-tam, Triangle Beaters*, Marimba*
* Tam-tam, Chimes, and Marimba may be shared on a single instrument.
(If a 5-octave marimba is unavailable, adjust octave placement accordingly.)
* Triangle Beaters: several beaters should be suspended and played directly with triangle sticks.
