This time we will be welcoming drummer Ooi Sumito as our guest!

Instructor: Sumito Ooi [Jazz Drummer/Sumitty & THE FUNFAIR]
He started playing drums at the age of 9 and studied under Masahiko Osaka during his university years.
He began performing mainly at jazz clubs in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and moved to the United States after graduating.
He learned various styles of drumming at the Drummers Collective in New York.
He returned to Japan having gained a variety of musical experiences, including deepening his friendship with his beloved drummer Brian Blade.
Currently, he is active in various groups, including his own group, Sumitty & THE FUNFAIR, as well as with Yosuke Sato (sax) and Chihiro Yamanaka (piano), while also teaching the next generation of musicians at the Jazz and Popular Music Department of Shobi Music College, working to broaden the base of jazz.
