The story of becoming Cympillow
Cympillow is a groundbreaking item that everyone now knows as an item that expands the range of cymbal tone and sustain.
Naturally, there was a process that led to this Cympillow...I was given a sneak peek at the process, so I'd like to introduce it to all JPC users.
①Felt processing

The splash cymbal I purchased didn't sound as expected, so I started by scraping the felt washer attached to the stand (it ended up being shaped like a shin pillow).
The splash cymbal starts to sound, but it doesn't change much for anything over 16 inches...
②Processing of thick urethane

Start selecting materials.
First, I went to a factory that makes urethane, selected the hardness and purchased it, but had trouble cutting it.
The sound was very good, but the next day it was flattened by the weight and didn't return to its original shape...
③Hard rubber processing

After all, it is difficult to cut, and rubber is basically hard and makes noise.
④Cork processing

It's difficult to cut and drill, and it's harder than I expected and ends up making noise.
⑤Cut and layer the leather

The finish was much harder than I expected due to the adhesive.
If that happens, the noise problem will occur as well. Lack of aesthetic beauty
⑤Fold back the grip tube and match it with the felt

This actually has the best sound!
Since this grip tube was made of silicone, we found a silicone factory and asked them to make a prototype in this form.
After that, we went through a lot of trial and error regarding the shape and size of silicone, resulting in Cympillow as we know it today.

“I wish it were like this, I want a sound like this.”
One of your ideas may change the world(?)
