The world's first and only "all rosewood" snare drum in the 1980s. That is the Mastercraft Rosewood snare drum. Rosewood is famous as a guitar fingerboard material, and it has also been used as an exterior material for drums, but because it is an extremely hard material, it is extremely difficult to produce an all-rosewood drum shell even today, even with advanced technology.
However, its dark tone, sweet sound, and powerful sound made it extremely popular among drummers who were looking for a new sound, and the recognition that rosewood equals TAMA was established. ARTWOOD Birch AW-455 14”×5” & AW-456 14”×6.5”
The Artwood Birch model from the Mastercraft series, released in 1980, is back as a long-awaited limited edition model.
Artwood Birch uses the birch shell that received acclaim for Superstar, and boasts thick mid-bass and good sound clarity brought by the 9mm thick shell. The snare wire uses the all-over type that was mainstream at the time, and the strainer that operates it is a complete reproduction of the "Roller Action Strainer" originally designed and developed by TAMA at the time. It achieves the smooth operation feel and retro look that were popular at the time, as well as the delicate response and voluminous buzz typical of a full-surface strainer.
Another thing you can't miss is its beautiful design. Reproduces the wood inlay that was used on early models. The contrast with the unadorned natural wood grain creates an antique atmosphere reminiscent of ancient art.

The TAMA Bell Brass Snare Drum BB 156, a snare drum that was often used in iconic rock albums from the 80's and 90's and still boasts an unparalleled presence that some sound engineers call it the ``TERMINATOR'', will be added to the regular lineup.
Adopts a cast bell brass shell that is machined and molded to a thickness of 3mm after casting. This ultra-heavyweight shell provides overwhelming, ear-splitting sound pressure and a wide range that covers a wide range of sounds from bass to treble, unrivaled by any other. After 40 years, that spirit will come back to you.
The historic Superstar drum kit, which was released in the early 1980s and helped TAMA to become a global brand, has been revived as a limited edition model after more than 40 years. The sounds of yesteryear that captivated top artists of the time are revived.
The Superstar, which appeared just two years after the TAMA brand was born, was a drum kit that featured an all-birch shell, which was unprecedented at the time. Its dynamic and powerful sound was an excellent match for the intense rock sounds of the time, and it set the tone for the subsequent sound of TAMA drums. This Superstar Reissue is a limited edition model that revives this monumental model, which was a turning point in the history of TAMA drums, into the modern era. The shell uses a 9mm all-birch shell that is thicker than modern drums, achieving a powerful attack and deep bass reminiscent of those days. In addition, hardware parts such as lugs and claw hooks have been recreated to the specifications of the time, and the inside of the shell is painted the same color as the outside, giving it a vintage look.
Shell Finish is available in four colors: Aqua Marine, Super Maple, Super Mahogany, and Cherry Wine, which were popular colors in the early 1980s.
