New sounds have arrived from Italy!
Its name is “ds Drum”
ds Drum is a relatively new brand founded by Luca Deorsola in 1995, but with the motto of "Sound First", ds Drum produces high-quality drums using craftsmanship in Italy, from material selection to design and finishing.
We have just received the item, so we haven't been able to do a detailed inspection yet, but just by unwrapping the snare drum and taking it out of the box, you can get a good feel for its high quality and beautiful appearance.
We would like to quickly introduce the specs of the 5 snare drums (metal x 3, wood x 2) that have just arrived.

Seamless Metal Shell Snares

More full of tone, projection and resonance!
For better sound, the DS Drum uses a spun shell with no seams. -
The difference is in the shell "C-shape™ SHELL"
In order to create better acoustic characteristics for snare drums, the C-shape Shell was born after two years of thorough research into the shape and thickness of the shell.
This new conical shell is thicker towards the snare side and has a different bearing edge width, being shorter on the striking side and wider on the snare side.
According to ds Drum, it is designed to deliver a soft sound on the striking side and maximum sound precision on the snare side, with a thick, warm and rich resonance, a sharp and bright attack, and a new and original sound that is completely different from other metal snares.
(I would like to test it carefully to see how effective it is.)

Wood Snares
ds Drum's wooden snare drums come in two types: the regular model "Mother Nature Series", which uses an environmentally friendly manufacturing method, and the semi-custom order system "RCS | Rebel Custom Shop"!
Unlike the typical cross-laminated plywood, both series use plywood with a uniform cross-grain pattern, aiming for the clear and powerful sound of a single-panel shell.
The Mother Nature Snare series
This series is full of love for the earth and aims to balance the creation of high-quality musical instruments with consideration for the environment.
The shell is painted with a new water-based coating for wood, the BIO coating, which is made from Italian recycled materials and in line with the latest green policies adopted worldwide.
PURE BOG OAK
This time, a limited edition model using BOG OAK, which is prized as a "gift from God," has arrived.
Bog oak refers to oak wood that has been sleeping at the bottom of lakes, swamps, and rivers for thousands of years and has become carbonized, and the wood used by DS is 1000 years old. Not only does it look beautiful, but its dark and deep sound is definitely worth a listen.

RCS - Rebel Custom Shop
RCS is a custom drum system that allows you to create your own unique sound by choosing your favorite specs from among a number of options, including shell material, size, and color finish.

This time, we chose the birch + mahogany hybrid shell from among the models recommended by ds Drum!
The unified black finish is chic and cool!
