Event Information
☆Saturday, October 3rd☆My first Cuban bumper♪
Experienced studying abroad in Cuba♪A maniac monthly workshop where you can learn thoroughly in small groups by Mr. Mado Corona Oya, who has a reputation for playing Cuban percussion such as conga and bat drum, which he has learned locally!
If any of the following apply to you, we recommend this workshop!
By the way, this lesson will focus on the ``conga'', an instrument so important that even the Cuban legend ``Changito'' says that all you need to do is to play the conga.
・I can't play the conga well
・I want to make the conga sound beautiful.
・I don't know how to practice conga
・I want to try conga improvisation.
・I want to know cool conga techniques
・I want to improve my Latin percussion skills.
・I want to become strong in Latin ensembles
It's not a classroom, so you can try it out for the first time!
The content changes little by little, so it's ok to participate every time (some people have been participating for almost 4 years!?)
Three sacred treasures of Cuban bumper customization
- conga
- bongo
- timbales
We will introduce you to the necessary technical exercises with a resume each time!
Furthermore, since I was a staff member at Ethnic City, I can listen to information about recommended products sold at JPC, and may even be able to buy them at a bargain price.
It may be hard to find a great value workshop with a small number of people and a long time (with a ventilation break in the middle) with a lot of content!
Of course, those who are new to percussion are also welcome!
Please feel free to join us.

●Madokoronoya Profile
After quitting my job, I studied abroad in Cuba for about a year and a half. Studied Latin percussion under Tomas Ramos Ortis “EL PANGA”, Adel Gonzalez (ex.Irakere) and others. He spends all his time playing Latin drums. Studied bat drum under Wilfredo Pedroso Rodriguez, a favorite disciple of Pancho Quinto, the founder of Yorba Andabo. After gaining experience performing in religious ceremonies in Cuba, he was recognized as a bata drum player. Shortly after returning to Japan, he began his career as a percussionist, appearing as a guest on the bat drum at Hajime Ogimi's salsa band Salsa Swingoza. Participated in the recording of Salsa Swingoza's latest album "CANTANDO" with bata drum. Participated in the new century dancehall band "Romantic Babalu", formed mainly by internationally active dancer Darin Saeko. In addition, he is involved in various live performances, recordings, and lecture activities, including his own project "AFINCA247".
